BEVERLY — The criticism Tuesday night to Beverly Crossing’s plans for a six-story, 111-apartment, mixed-use development at the corner of Rantoul Street and Railroad Avenue centered on the building’s size.

Last Navy Ship Departs Avondale Shipyard

AVONDALE, LA (WVUE) – A westbank shipyard says goodbye to its final war ship. The USS Somerset set sail from Avondale around 8am Monday.

The war ship is the third in a series of vessels named for the September 11th terrorist attacks. Steel from Flight 93 which crashed in Somerset, Pennsylvania is incorporated in the ship’s structure.
